Transformative Insights from Tyler Henry's "Here and Hereafter"

Chapter 1: Embracing Spirituality
I recently completed Tyler Henry’s acclaimed second book, "Here and Hereafter." This work serves as a practical guide for enhancing one’s life, enriched with stories from his psychic readings that illustrate the key concepts in each section.
The central premise of the book revolves around the profound interconnectedness of our existence—an idea that resonates deeply with me. It begins by advocating for a more spiritual approach to life, encouraging readers to connect with their inner selves and to embody kindness and compassion. This journey involves recognizing and trusting our intuition.
The book delves into the role of the ego, highlighting its detrimental effects on our lives. Tyler explains how the ego often obstructs our ability to see our true potential and life paths.
Mindfulness emerges as a crucial theme, offering a pathway to nurture our intuition and self-connection. Personally, I found this particularly relatable, as I have practiced daily mindfulness meditation for over six years.
Enhancing and refining our intuition is portrayed as essential for spiritual living. Tyler introduces various mindfulness techniques, including visualization exercises, such as imagining thoughts floating down a stream, as well as a 'cord cutting' method.
A significant focus of the book is on authenticity—though it’s a popular term today, Tyler provides a refreshing perspective on its true meaning. He emphasizes that "living authentically means living mindfully." He also discusses the importance of entering a 'flow' state while engaging in activities that bring us joy, which can guide us toward discovering our life purpose. When we align with our true selves, we tend to make wiser choices for our future.
Another powerful message throughout the book is the emphasis on LOVE—underscoring that quality matters more than quantity. Tyler asserts that love, compassion, and gratitude hold more value than mere material success. Ultimately, what counts is that we strive to be good individuals rather than just successful ones. His mother contributes a poignant section on the significance of authenticity and supporting people in being true to themselves.
Authenticity boils down to understanding who we really are and living in accordance with that truth.
One chapter addresses the themes of loss and grief, and here’s what resonated with me: Grief manifests uniquely for each individual, and there isn't a singular 'correct' way to navigate it. It can profoundly alter lives as people honor their loved ones and create legacies in their memory. Experiencing loss invites us to reconsider what is within our control and what isn’t. Grief is an ongoing journey, and it's essential that we approach each other with compassion as we all face death and loss at some point.
Similar to his first book, "Between Two Worlds," which I previously reviewed, Tyler discusses the signs our departed loved ones send us through coincidences and synchronicities, serving as reminders of our interconnected reality.
Throughout the book, themes of intuition, synchronicity, and the spiritual fabric of existence are intricately woven together.
The concluding chapter features a Q&A section that updates previous inquiries with fresh questions and deeper insights.
This new book presents a distinct tone compared to his first, which I found pleasantly surprising. Numerous sections and passages were so impactful that I highlighted them and shared excerpts with a friend.
If you have an interest in mediums and the afterlife, and seek a book to guide you towards a life aligned with your true purpose, I wholeheartedly recommend "Here and Hereafter."
