In 2012, I embarked on my side hustle adventure by taking on accounting projects alongside my regular job. Initially, I didn't actively pursue opportunities; instead, I relied on others to connect me with potential gigs.

As the years went by, these collaborations dwindled, prompting me to consider ways to boost my income in 2019, especially with my daughter's upcoming birthday. I envisioned a grand celebration abroad rather than the usual party.

Section 1.1: Finding Creative Solutions

I contemplated taking on a weekend job but quickly realized my schedule wouldn't permit it. During my early career, financial constraints limited my options, as I was managing payments for two properties and an SUV.

Eventually, the idea of property management emerged. My wife and I partnered with friends who owned condo units, offering to find tenants in exchange for a commission equivalent to one month’s rent. In less than six months, we earned $3,000 in commissions, which helped fund our trip to Japan in March 2020 for my eldest's birthday.

However, the pandemic struck, adversely affecting real estate and other businesses.

Chapter 2: The Shift to Online Coaching

As I navigated my next hustle, I realized the importance of mastering lead generation. Although I joined LinkedIn in 2009, I only became active in sharing content in 2019. My posts focused on personal development, career advice, and life lessons.

Initially, my goal was to express my thoughts and provide practical wisdom to my network. However, I began receiving messages from individuals seeking advice on career transitions. I enjoyed these exchanges, even if they stretched into long conversations.

Eventually, I had an epiphany: I could offer free consultations and create a paid program for those in need.

The primary goal is to uncover the underlying concerns of my prospects. Once I grasp their true challenges, I can move on to the next phase of my sales strategy: presenting a tailored offer.

After understanding my lead’s situation, I don’t rush to propose a solution immediately. I guide them towards potential resolutions but let them know I need time to formulate a comprehensive plan.

I follow up via email with my initial thoughts, observations, and recommendations. This written proposal allows me to be creative and instills a sense of urgency for them to address their issues. From the 22 proposals I’ve sent recently, I’ve successfully closed over 33% of the deals.

While there's room for improvement, launching my coaching journey in November 2021 has been a promising start.

My online content has played a crucial role in establishing my authority in coaching. By sharing regular insights on personal growth, life hacks, and career strategies, I drew more attention and inquiries.
