Improving My Health by Changing My Writing Routine
Written on
Chapter 1: Acknowledging the Issue
Lately, I’ve come to realize that my current routine is detrimental to my well-being. It’s 4:30 PM; after a long day at work, I switch on my laptop and dive into writing. By 5:30 PM, I pause to prepare dinner, eat, and then return to my writing until 7:30 PM, when I head to the gym for a session that wraps up at 9:30 PM. After a quick meal, I resume writing.
But something feels off, and I’ve pinpointed the issue: my sleep quality is lacking. I usually hit the sack around midnight and wake up at 6:30 AM, giving me a meager six hours of rest—not exactly ideal for good health.
Section 1.1: My Future Strategy
To improve my situation, I’ve identified three key areas to address:
- Limit App Distractions
- Revise My Daily Schedule
- Maximize Weekend Productivity
Subsection 1.1.1: Reducing Distractions
I've found myself frequently checking Twitter (X), WhatsApp, and sometimes even YouTube while I write. This habit is counterproductive, and I need to break it. The solution? Keep all other apps closed until I finish my writing session.
Section 1.2: Optimizing My Schedule
As a morning person, I thrive when I tackle tasks early. My goal is to wake up earlier, around 6 AM, allowing me to write before heading to work. Prioritizing important tasks will be crucial—no more checking notifications every ten minutes; instead, I will concentrate on my writing.
Section 1.3: Utilizing Weekends
Weekends offer a fantastic opportunity for productivity. However, I’ve noticed I often settle for writing just one article before calling it a day. This needs to change. Moving forward, I’ll aim to write at least five articles on weekends to prepare for the upcoming week.
Chapter 2: Seeking Support
How has your sleep been lately? I’d love to hear your thoughts and see how I can assist you.
